Workers' Comp Impairment Rating Calculator 2026
Estimate your Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) benefit based on your state's statutory schedule, your impairment rating, and your pre-injury weekly wage.
What Is an Impairment Rating?
An impairment rating is a doctor-assigned percentage (0–100%) that measures permanent loss of function after you reach Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI). Most states use the AMA Guides 6th Edition to standardize ratings. The higher your rating, the higher your PPD benefit — and the stronger your leverage in settlement negotiations.
Scheduled vs. Unscheduled Injuries
Scheduled
Arms, legs, hands, feet, fingers, toes, eyes, ears. Each body part has a fixed maximum number of weeks defined by state statute. Predictable calculation: rating % × scheduled weeks × weekly benefit.
Unscheduled
Back, neck, internal organs, mental health, cumulative trauma. Calculated as a percentage of whole-person impairment. These cases vary widely and typically benefit the most from legal representation.
